Moscow, March 11. The Emperours coronation was performed
here the 7th instant with unparalleled magnificence. The
order of the march from the Castle to the Cathedral Church
was as follows. . . On the 9th there was a magnificent ball
at the Castle, at which the emperour and all the imperial
family were present, as well as the foreign ministers, who
had been particularly invited, besides a great number of
quality both Russians & foreigners of both sexes. The same
evening a fine firework was played off on a plain on the
other side of the river; there were also great illuminations
and rejoycings throughout the city for three nights
together. In short, the like solemnities and feasts have
not been seen here in the memory of man. The emperour has
made on this occasion a promotion of several military and
other officers.
