Hanover, Febr. 4. The diversions of the carneval began
here, on the day in which the Duke of Edinburg entered into
the 21st year of his age, when he gave a ball at court, to
all the gentry of both sexes, and the foreigners of
distinction. His Highness danced with the Countess of
Platen, who was Queen of the ball. There was also a great
supper, &c. The next day a French play was acted in the
theatre at court, next day to that there was a masquerade at
