A PARABLE OF THE OLD WOMAN AND FRIAR, occasion'd by a pulpit
harangue at the funeral of a Lawyer.
There was an old dame aged ninety and eight,
She went to a friar to tell him her fate;
She gave him a guinea that he might instruct her
What to do when to heaven's gates Death should conduct
her.

MORAL.
This parable clearly shews forth (by intention,)
The madness and follow of humane invention
The let's buy the truth, whene'er we can light on't,
(I think the old woman was much in the right on 't;)
