A Picture of Europe, for 1771. (continued from our last.)
   Rome. The Pope repeating homilies, nineteen Cardinals
singing penetential hymns.  His holiness's hat nodding on
one side of his head.  At a distance a Spaniard and a
Frenchman dancing, after breaking their chains.
   Naples.  The King stretched in an arbour listening to the
musick of a full concerto, has eunuchs for attendants.
   Sardinia.  His Majesty booted and spurred; always ready
to march.  Squints over to Corsica.
   Great-Britain.  On her knees.  The cabinet council
playing at back gammon.  A Secretary of State singing the
red rose at a candle.  Neptune supporting the throne with
his head off.
   Ireland. Barefooted.  Singing the Irish Howl.
