Annapolis, December 25. On Friday evening last his
Excellency General Washington, with his suite, arrived here
on his way to Mount Vernon. . . [13 lines, description of

On Monday Congress gave his Excellency a public dinner at
the Ball-room, where upwards of two hundred persons of

At night the state-house was beautifully illuminated,
where a ball was given by the General Assembly, at which a
very numerous and brilliant appearance of ladies were
present.
