By Authority.  Theatre.  Tomorrow evening, December 31,
1783, will be presented, (by particular desire) a true
tragedy, called The Fair Penitent.
Lothario, Mr. Ryan. Sciolio, Mr. Heard; Altamont, Mr. Smith;
Rossano, Mr. Davids; Servants, Messrs. Atherton and Keating;
and the part of  Horatio, by Mr. Courteney. Calista, Mrs.
Ryan. Lucilla, Mrs. Potter; Lavinia, Mrs. Foster.
Between the play and entertainment, the favourite air of
"Bright Author," by Mrs. Hyde.
 To which will be added, a pantomime entertainment, called
The Witches; or, Birth, Vagaries, and Death of Harlequin.
  Interspersed with dancing, and a new scene, in this will
be introduced,
"The Lark's Shrill Notes," by Mrs. Hyde,-- also, sundry
feats of lofty tumbling.
To conclude with "Rural Felicity," by Mrs. Hyde.
  The characters as usual.
  Tickets to be had at Mr. James Young's, at the Exchange
Coffee-House, Fell's Point--and of Mr. Willis, next door to
the Theatre, where boxes may be taken.
  Boxes, one dollar; pit, five shillings.
  [hand pointing right] No money whatever will be received
at the door; nor can any person be admitted behind the
scenes.--The doors will be opened at five o'clock, and the
performance will begin precisely at six o'clock.
