Charles County, October 12, 1778. Ran away, about the
beginning of August last from Mr. Richard Gambra's, near
Port Tobacco, where he was hired, one of the Piccawaxon
glebe slaves, commonly called Will Wage or Will Crack. He
is a tall stout young fellow with prominent jaws, and bends
somewhat foreward in his walk, and is much addicted to
gambling, and plays upon the banjo: what cloths he had on
are unknown to me.
