Baltimore, April 7. . . [2 paragraphs on debate concerning
the war in America.]
In the returns sent to Lord George Germaine, by Sir William
Howe, of the killed, wounded and missing of the British
Army, &c. under his command in the two general engagements
with the Americans on the heights of Brandywine, on the 11th
of September, at Germantown, on the 4th of October, and on a
detachment under the command of Major General Grey,
September 20, 1777, when General Wayne's Corps was
surprized, their loss is represented as follows.
On the Heights of Brandywine.  Total British and Foreign.  3
Captains, 5 Lieutenants, 7 Serjeants, 74 Rank and File
killed. 1 Lieutenant-Colonel, 1 Major, 17 Captains, 25
Lieutenants, 5 Ensigns, 40 Serjeants, 4 Drummers, 305 Rank
and File wounded.
At Germantown. Total British and Hessians.  2 Lieutenant-
Colonels, 2 Ensigns, 7 Serjeants, 1 Drummer, 58 Rank and
File killed.  1 Lieutenant-Colonel, 6 Captains, 13
Lieutenants, 10 Ensigns, 24 Serjeants, 1 Drummer, 395 Rank
and File wounded.  1 Captain, 13 Rank and File missing. 
16th Dragoons.  1 man killed, 3 horses killed, and 4
wounded.
