Morris-Town, March 16, 1777.  For the information of the
officers engaged in the Continental service, on the new
establishment, you are desired to insert the following list
of pay, as received from Charles Thomson, Esq; Secretary of
Congress, and you will greatly oblige, Yours, &c.
William Palfrey, Pay-Master-General
Colonel per month, 75 dollars
Lieutenant Colonel, 60
Major, 50
Chaplain, 33 1-3
Surgeon, 33 1-3
Surgeon's Mate, 18
Adjutant, 40
Quarter-Master, 27 1-2
Regimental Pay-Master, 26 2-3
Captain, 40
Lieutenant, 27
Ensign, 20
Serjeant-Major and Quarter Master Serg, 9 each
Drum Major and Fife-Major, 8 1-3 each
Serjeant, 8
Corporal, 7 1-3
Drummer and Fifer, 7 1-3 each

All other officers, &c. the same as last year.
