Anne Arundel County, Oct. 30, 1778. One hundred dollars
reward. Ran away last night an English convict servantman
named Thomas Franklin, about 25 years of age, light hair and
eyes, about 5 feet 6 or 7 inches high; had on when he went
away, an old linsey jacket, crocus shirt and trowsers all
much worn; he play'd the fife for Col. Dorsey's battalion of
militia; it is probable he may try to pass as a free man, is
well acquainted with numbers of our officers at camp, and is
fond of drink. . . [2 lines, signed] Nicholas Watkins
