London. . . Dec. 28. It is an undoubted fact, that no steps
have been omitted to reduce the Duke of Cumberland to the
level of a private gentleman. Orders have been universally
given at court for the conduct of all ranks of people; and
even the theatres have received notice that it is his
Majesty's pleasure he have no distinctions paid him there.--
What a difference is thus made, by the most virtuous of
Princes, between the sin of gallantry, and the disgrace of
an unequal marriage?
