Baltimore, November 26, 1770. [Reply to prior article on
Inconsistency]
To obviate these very unjust and illiberal charges is the
purpose of this publication; and by the way, I will just beg
leave to quote the following lines from Shakespeare.
"Who steals my purse steals trash; 'tis something, nothing;
"'Twas mine, 'tis his, and has been slave to thousands;
But he that filches from me my good mane,
"Robs me of that which not enriches him,
"And leaves me poor indeed."
