Rome, Jan 6.  As the Carnival is very short this year, the
Pope has given permission for the Theatres to be opened on
the 2d of this month; but the death of the Pretender has
occasioned his Holiness to defer the representations of all
public shews and diversions till the week after the funeral
of that Prince whose corpse is to be interred with great
pomp in the Cathedral of St. Peter. . .
