Extract of a letter from St. Christophers, Nov. 4, 1765. . .
[account of uprising against John Hopkins and Mr. Tucket,
distributors of stamp papers.] Mr. Hopkins was also made to
conduct the mob about 3 quarters of a mile into the country,
where Tucket was concealed, and he delivered himself to
them, and was brought to the public market with drums
beating, and was there made to swear never to have any
further connection with stamp papers. . .
