November 1.  Yesterday, about one o'clock in the afternoon,
the Right Honourable Sir Thomas Chitty, Knight, Lord-Mayor,
accompanied by the Aldermen and Commoners of the Committees
for the New Bridge, proceeded in State (but without music)
to Black-Fryars; and  there, in the North Abutment, his
Lordship laid the first stone of the intended new bridge, .
. . [4 lines, people celebrate] and the bells ringing,
expressed their joy by loud huzzas.
