Extract of a letter from a gentleman in the Army, dated at
the camp, 3 miles on this side Lake-George, June 20, 1759. .
. Last Sunday came to Half-Way-Brook a flag of truce, with
letters for General Amherst: He was sent down to Fort-
Edward through the woods, and came back the same way the
next day, and was escorted to the lake; from which place he
set off yesterday morning. --What his business was, I will
not pretend to say: -- He is a major of the militia; and had
with him 4 privates and a drum. . .
