Amsterdam, Oct. 29. The magistrates of this city have
issued a placart, that no master of an alehouse or tavern,
or other house of that kind, shall receive company or supply
them with liquor, after nine o'clock at night, under the
penalty of twenty five florins; and that no person shall
keep a house for people to assemble in purposely for
singing, under pain of paying 100 florins for the first
offence if on a week day, and 300 florins if on a Sunday
with the addition of corporal punishment for the second
offence.
