Marblehead, May 1.  On Tuesday last, was celebrated in this
place, the joyful restoration of peace to the United
States.--The day was ushered in by ringing of bells, and a
federal salute from the principal battery of the town . . . 
[15 lines]  At sunset, the bells, which had continued
ringing, were silent; and in the evening, a number of houses
were brilliantly illuminated. . .
