Thursday last the Council and General Assembly of this
commonwealth succeeded to the choice of President and Vice -
President of the Supreme Executive Council, when his
Excellency John Diciknson [=Dickinson], Esq. and the
honorable James Ewing, Esq. were unanimously re-elected to
those important and elevated stations, for the ensuing year.
The day was observed with the usual formalities and
rejoicings, viz. the display of the state flag on Market-
Street wharf, the firing of the United States salute by a
company of the militia train of artillery, an elegant
entertainment, the ringing of bells, &c. &c.
