We hear from Billerica, that on the 2d ult. a number of
ladies met by appointment . . . at the house of the Rev. Mr.
Cummings, and presented his lady with 109 score of linnen
and 148 skains of tow yarn . . . At 4 o'clock they went to
the meeting-house, where, after attending to a short
discourse . . . and singing several anthems of praise, the
gentlemen contributed about 400 dollars for the weaving the
yarn which the ladies had spun. . .
