Hartford, July 13.  About 2 o'clock on the morning of the
5th instant, a fleet . . . [4 lines] anchored off West
Haven.  They had on board about 3000 land forces, commanded
by Gov. Tryon, part of which landed a little after sunrise
on West Haven point.  The alarm guns were fired in town, the
drums beat to arms, . . . [narrative of New Haven skirmish.]
