The Scotch Earl is said to be exceedingly annoyed at the
portrait given of him among a variety of other illustrious
personages, from the pencil of Shakespear; and indeed he
carries his resentment so far, as to swear, whenever the
said characters become the subject of conversation, "by G-D!
Shakespear was a damn'd feule.["]
