Index Entry Ball, in Boston, will not make up for insult to ladies' sensibilities

The ladies seem to be very highly, and I think very justly
offended, at the coarse, ill-timed compliments paid them, by
the orator, in his late oration, delivered to the brethren
of St. Andrew's lodge [of Free Masons.] . . . [31 lines]
The virtues of humanity are peculiar to your sex, and we
flatter ourselves, that most splendid ball could not afford
you greater pleasure than to see the human heart made happy,
and the poor distrest, obtain present relief. [signed]
Antiperezzite.
