Extract of a private letter from Francfort, dated April 9.
A man of fashion, whom curiosity had brought hither from
London, to see the coronation, that his horses and himself
might be better served, hired two Germans, one as his groom,
the other in the capacity of Valet de Chambre; . . . [when
he orders his equipage, he finds his new employees have gone
off with all his goods and horses, as well as his mistress]
who was, a few months ago, a Figure Dancer at the Opera
House at Paris. The affair made no great noise, as our
spark was glad to hush it up, lest he should be laughed at
by all his acquaintances: He, therefore, applied to his
banker, got a fresh supply of money, and this morning set
off, as he effected to declare, for London, incog.
