You see, my friend, I know what passes in town better than
you imagine And now for your president --To be sure, a
pretty hand you have made of it--Did you ever read the fable
of the trumpeter? He set other people by the ears then ran
away himself--A fine holiday Colonel! When the enemy were
in Jersey and his battalion called on him to head them--not
one inch would he budge--he had done with them, and they
took the field without him. . .
