A Deserter. Deserted from the custody of the subscriber,
one James Kendell, who with seven other persons, was sent by
the Hon. Council of this Colony, to the care of the
Committee of Safety of Newbury Port, to be by them employed
or secured as they should think proper--He is a convict,
lately transported from England, about 22 years of age,
rather small, has tender eyes, sandy hair tied behind, his
legs swelled, is a great singer of songs, and a good barber,
but a weaver by trade, was poorly dressed, had with him a
pair of silk knit breeches and two short jackets--He is
suspected of theft, and of being a very bad fellow, and is
supposed to have gone towards Cambridge to procure the place
of a Drummer, as he pretends to be master of that art--This
is to desire the committees of any other town, or any
individual, to secure said Kendell in any goal or place of
safety and acquaint me therewith. [signed] William Ingalls.
