Norwich, [Connecticut], July 7. . . [By ringing meeting-
house bell, grave digger alerted the citizens of presence in
town of Francis Green, merchant of Boston. They collected]
and desired him to depart the town in 15 minutes, he
appeared reluctant, and made the same excuse that he did at
Windham, but with much less success, for a horse and cart
was provided, so that he had no other alternative, but to
mount the cart or his own carriage; he chose the latter, and
set out properly attended, with drums beating, horns
blowing, &c.
