Citation | EG.771.040 20-27 Aug 1771:183 (4/161) London, June 21. A correspondent says, the Lord-Mayor, by serving the office this year, will put into his pocket not less than 2000l. The Tower saved him the expences of the Easter Ball, and the entertainment of the Bishops, and the presence of his gout, &c. is to excuse him for not giving any ball or entertainment for the Judges and others at any time throughout his mayoralty. |
