The subscribers beg leave to acquaint the public, that they
have begun a collection of tunes, for engraving, which they
propose to continue (provided a sufficient encouragement is
given by subscription) til they have formed a complete body
of church music: consisting, principally, of psalm tunes,
such as are most approved, from ancient and modern authors,
and some tunes that have never been printed, with a few
select hymns, and two or three anthems. the books will
contain upwards of one hundred pages, two scores in a page,
exclusive of the introduction, at the price of six shillings
lawful money per book, to subscribers; which is considerably
less than the retailing price. The greatest care will be
taken to render the whole correct and uniform; and to make
it a more agreeable companion for choristers, the books will
be less than the usual size. Subscriptions are taken at the
printing-office in Hartford, and at houses of entertainment
in Killingworth, Guilford, Branford, Derby, Newtown, New-
Milford, Danbury, Woodbury, and Washington; also at the
printing-office and the subscribers in New-Haven. [signed]
