Camp Reading, near Danbury in the state of Connecticut,
January 23, 1779.  Three hundred dollars reward.  Deserters!
Perjured villains!  Deserted a few days since, from Col.
Moses Hazen's Regiment the following men, viz. . . [6 lines
describing deserter Patrick Maddin] Thomas Larkins, alias
Kidman, born in England, about 30 years of age, 5 feet 9
inches high, of a black complection; has two scars on his
right cheek; much given to singing, swearing, and drunkeness 
Richard Osman, alias Berry, a drummer, born in England,
about 19 years of age, 5 feet 8 or 9 inches high, of a fair
complection, is slender made; has lost one of his fore
teeth, and is somewhat knock-kneed. . . [53 more lines
describing 11 other deserters plus reward for returning them
to their regiment]  [signed] Moses Hazen.
