Baltimore, December 31.  In Congress, December 31, 1776. 
This morning Congress received the following letter from
General Washington. Headquarters, Newtown, 27th Dec. 1776. .
. [100 lines describing battle at Trenton, 5 lines
introducing return of killed, captured, and wounded] 
Regiment of Landspach.  1 lieut. col. 1 major, 1 capt. 3
lieut. 4 ensigns, 38 sergeants, 6 drummers, 5 musicians, 9
officers servants, 206 rank and file. [3 lines, Regiment of
Knyphausen]  Regiment of Rohl.  1 col. 1 lieut. col. 1
major, 1 capt. 2 lieuts. 5 ensigns, 3 surgeons mates, 25
sergeants, 8 drummers, 4 musicians, 9 officer servants, 244
rank & file. . . [3 lines, Regiment of Artillery]  Total--1
colonel, 2 lieut. colonels, 3 majors, 4 captains, 8
lieutenants, 12 ensigns, 2 surgeons, 92 sergeants, 20
drummers, 9 musicians, 25 officers servants, 740 rank &
file. 918 prisoners.  6 double fortified brass three
pounders, with carriages complete. 3 ammunition waggons.  As
many muskets, bayonets, cartouch boxes, and swords as there
are prisoners.  12 drums. 4 colours.  Published by order of
Congress, [signed] Charles Thompson.
