New London, Dec. 27. . . [8 lines] A gentleman at Bedford,
in a letter dated the 23d instant, writes his friend here as
follows, "I have the pleasure to congratulate you upon the
safe arrival into this port, of the Alfred's prize, with
cloathing for the army at Quebec; I am inform'd 10,000
suits, 30 Kettle-drums, some arms, and a quantity of English
goods. She appears in a set of ballast. A grand
acquisition, this. She is going to be unloaded immediately.
