New-York, August 28.  The Provincial Congress having
resolved that the cannon should be removed from the battery,
a number of the citizens collected for that purpose last
Wednesday evening. . . [12 lines describing annoyance of the
work party, under the protection of Lamb's Artillery, by the
Asia Man of War]  Soon after this the Asia fired three
cannon, when our drums beat to arms, which alarmed the
inhabitants. . . [15 more lines describing successful
removal of the cannon, the apprehension of the women and
children, followed by 76 lines of letters generated by the
incident]
