On Wednesday the 14th instant was attended the public
commencement in this town.  [16 more lines describing
ceremonies] . . .then an anthem concluded the exercises of
the forenoon.  [41 more lines describing afternoon exercises
and listing degree candidates] . . .then was sung an anthem,
and the whole concluded by prayer.  Everything was conducted
with a becoming decency and decorum.
