[Hartford]. . . [22 lines describing discovery of thief] The
court I suppose were not aware of that perfection of
politeness which reigns in the province of New-Hampshire,
gave a further proof of the roughness of our manners, and
according to the usual method of proceeding in such cases,
ordered him to divert the spectators, by dancing a few
minutes under the stimulating and quickening influences of
