Dartmouth College, 21 May, 1772. Yesterday the Rev'd
Messieurs David Macclure and Levi Frisbie (both educated by
Dr. Wheelock) were ordained here to the work of the
ministry, with a special view to a mission among the Indians
at Muskingham beyond the Ohio, about 800 miles from hence;
where a remarkable door is opened for the propagation of the
gospel. The solemnity which was performed with decency and
propriety, was concluded with an anthem, sung by the
