In Congress, October 3, 1780.  Resolved, that the regular
army of the United States, from and after the first day of
January next, consist of . . . [1 1/2 columns listing ranks
and organization.]
October 21.  That the several regiments of infantry,
requested from the respective states . . . be augmented, and
consist of . . . 45 Sergeants, 1 drum-major, 1 fife major,
10 drums, 10 fifes, 612 rank and file. . . [6 lines] one
drum and one fife from each regiment to attend the
recruiting officer. . . [1/2 column, signed] Charles
