The enemy, we learn, have been for some time busied in
removing the pews and pulpits from several meeting houses at
Newport, and erecting chimnies therein, for the reception of
troops.  This is not the first instance of their turning the
house of God into dens for thieves--witness Burgoyne's
Riding Theatre, &c. &c.
