Charles-Town (South-Carolina) Sept. 11.  Extract of letters
from the Camp near Senecca.
August 18.  On the 12th inst.  Col. Williamson came to
Tomawsey, where he saw signs of Indians very fresh; detached
Capt. Perkins and Anderson, with 60 men, to attack them and
reconnoitre; and Major Downes went out with 20 men. . . 
[skirmish with Indians] being now near sunset, they were
called off by beat of drum. . .
