ANOTHER SKETCH OF THE TIMES.
Empty churches. Crammed play-houses. Parsons without
religion. Women without chastity. The girls all boldness.
The men all effeminacy. Marriage despised. Concubinage
gloried in. Cuckolds without number. Prostitutes in every
corner of the town. Patriots without common-honesty.
Officers without courage. A set of lawyers so destitute of
principle, that they would plead for the Devil. A court full
of folly. The drawing room of treachery. Fiddlers caressed.
Men of sense neglected. The best encouragement given to
butterfly catchers. An opposition without meaning. A
ministry without abilities. And a ***** without a head.
