Salem, March 12. The fatal and inhuman tragedy acted in
King Street, on the 5th of March, 1770, was commemorated
here last Tuesday, (being the anniversary of that shocking
catastrophe). A numerous and crowded assembly met at the
Rev. Dr. Whitaker's Meeting House in the evening, and
devoutly joined the Doctor in a fervent, pathetic prayer,
