Newport, April 16.  Wednesday the eleventh instant the
Reverend Mr. Samuel Hopkins was installed Pastor of the
First Congregational Church of this town.

In the afternoon of the same day, a concert of Vocal Musick
was performed, by Mr. Gilbert and the scholars whom he had
instructed in psalmody the winter last.
. . . And they sing the Song of Moses the Servant of God,
and the Song of the Lamb. -- After this a great variety of
psalms and anthems were sung.-- All which was performed to
the satisfaction of a crowded and numerous auditory.
