AN EPIGRAM ON A LATE MARRIAGE.
At length, gay Polly, you have paid,
For all your triumphs past;
The scene is chang'd, and you are made,
A vassal at the last.
ANSWERED BY A LADY, SISTER TO THE BRIDE.
In wedlock, women all must say
That horrid, frightful word Obey.
Then Polly no uncommon fate will have,
For every married woman is a slave.
