Extract of a letter from Paris, dated May 5. The
Englishman, who thro' ignorance of our customs and manners,
gave a box on the ear to a gentleman at the Concert
Spiritualite, and who was sent to the Bastille, is almost
cured. He will be immediately conducted to the frontiers of
France next to England; and the King, desirous that this
affair may be attended with no bad consequences, has ordered
the military gentleman, who is a reduced officer of the
regiment of Fitz-James, not to depart the Kingdom on any
pretence whatever.
