Philadelphia, July 9.  Friday last, being the anniversary of
the declaration of the independence of America, the morning
was ushered in with the ringing of bells, and the colours of
the United States, with all those of the different nations,
belonging to ships in port (except those of Great-Britain)
were displayed in our harbour on the joyful occasion;. . .

entertainment of the honorable council, all the field
officers of the city and neighbourhood, and several officers
