Deserted from my company at Manchester, on their march to
Ticonderoga, in Col. Warner's regiment, James Wall, 30 years
of age, an old countryman and a very good fidler. 5 feet 8
inches high, dark complexion, dark eyes, black hair; had on
a light brown coat turn'd up with blue, pewter buttons with
the number 14 on them.  Also, one David Craft, about 5 feet
9 or 10 inches high, dark complexion, dark eye, black hair,
down look. Whoever will take up said deserters, and return
them to their regiment, or to me in Lenox,  or to Lieut.
Coon in Salisbury, shall have fifteen dollars reward for
each or either of them and all necessary charges paid, per
[signed] Simeon Smith, Capt.
Lenox, April 23, 1777.
