Hartford, Jan. 18. Last Wednesday the Rev. John Marsh, late
a tutor of Harvard College, in Cambridge, was ordained
pastor of the first church in Wethersfield. The public
solemnity was introduced with an anthem taken from the 122d
psalm. The Rev. Mr. Cushing, of Waltham, made the first
prayer. The Rev. Mr. Woodward of Weston, preached an
excellent and well-adapted sermon from those words, Mat. x
41. He that receiveth a prophet, in the name of a prophet,
shall receive a prophet's reward; (which was immediately
preceded by an anthem on friendship). . . [12 lines]
