London, June 18. The last letters from Italy bring an
account, that General Paoli had gained a very considerable
advantage over the Genoeses troops commanded by General
Matra, having totally defeated a body of 1200 men, of whom
upwards of 900 had been made prisoners. . . General Paoli
was in March, with his whole force, in pursuit of M. Matra,
and had caused Te Deum to be sung in all the provinces under
his jurisdiction.
