London, January 13. His most Serene Highness the Hereditary
Prince of Brunswick-Lunenburg, having sailed from
Helvoetsluys on board his Majesty's yatcht the Princess
Augusta on Tuesday the 10th, landed at Harwich on the 12th,
and arrived at Somerset-house at five this evening [to
marry] . . .
London, January 26. Yesterday his Majesty went to the House
of Peers in the usual state, attended by his Grace the Duke
of Rutland and the Earl of Eglington, and gave the Royal
assent to a Bill for the naturalizing his Serene Highness
the Prince of Brunswick; [and some other bills] . . [on to
the marriage ceremony; several days later]
A report prevailed that his Serene Highness the Prince of
Brunswick was to have gone on Tuesday night to Drury-lane
Theatre incog, but he was at Leicester House, where an
elegant entertainment and a ball was provided for him. Many
people who had notice of it went to the house, where they
waited with great impatience for his Highness: however,
their disappointment was much alleviated by the excellent
performance of Mr. Powell in Posthumus.
London, Feb. 11. We are credibly informed, that the Prince
and Princess of Brunswick, on their landing at Helvoetsluys
ordered handsome presents to be given to the Captains of the
yachts, and also presents to every private man belonging
thereto. . .
