"A vessel was stranded on Sunday morning within three miles of this town; she was bound from Cork to Bristol. . . The ship split from stem to stern, and the whole cargo is lost. Of 31 passengers 26 were drowned; among them Lieut. Savage and Ensign Fenton, with 13 soldiers of Col. Yorke's regiment, . . . two soldiers and a drummer, were all that escaped." |
